Bagnoregio is a little village located between Orvieto and Bolsena, very famous for being the birthplace of Saint Bonaventure.

The surrounding landscape is characterised by the Calanchi Valley, formed by the land erosion due to weathering. The medieval village is a citadel, sheltered on a tufa spur. Because of its shape, is nicknamed and known as the 'Civita che Muore' ('Dying Civita') and it has become one of Bagnoregio's main tourist attractions.
