Ischia di Castro is a village in the northernmost part of Lazio.

It is situated in the centre of an important archaeological area, consisting of Etruscan areas, and some medieval rocky settlements, such as the Hermitage of Poggio Conte, a rugged church dating back to the XII-XIII century, and Chiusa del Vescovo. Not to be missed is the Farnese Fortress, which testifies the period in which the Castle of Ischia di Castro was part of the Farnese family possessions.

To enter into the historic centre, you pass through the open arch under the Clock Tower, built at the extreme part of the Farnese Fortress, one of the oldest residences of the Farnese family.
